Abstract
We experimentally test whether voice pitch differentially affects perceptions of leadership and threat in Black and White men. Men with lower-pitched voices were perceived as more competent leaders and less threatening. However, contrary to our predictions, Black men were rated as better leaders, regardless of voice pitch.
