Abstract

Latina/o students randomly assigned to read out loud a standardized reading comprehension passage described as diagnostic of linguistic ability generated a higher frequency of speech errors than Latina/o students randomly assigned to read the same passage described as non-diagnostic of linguistic ability and White students randomly assigned to either condition.
