Abstract

Neuropsychological assessment was carried out on 78 depressed patients with elevated suicidal ideation receiving ketamine vs. midazolam infusion as an antidepressant treatment. Better baseline memory performance predicted ketamine antidepressant response, contrasting with previous studies; less implicit association to suicide and lower risk taking were associated with reductions in suicidal thinking.
