Keep Your Distance: People Sit Farther Away from a Man with Schizophrenia Versus Diabetes

Although concrete behavior is foundational to the concept of stigma, knowledge of psychiatric stigma is built on measurement of self-reported attitudes and intentions. The present results fill this gap by demonstrating that people seek more physical distance from a man with a psychiatric problem (schizophrenia) versus a medical problem (diabetes).
