Abstract

191 College students participated in a study examining academic entitlement and the college experience. Academic entitlement predicted more acceptance of incivil behaviors in the classroom (e.g., texting and mocking classmates) and fewer positive classroom citizenship behaviors. Higher academic entitlement also predicted uncertainty in one’s skills and positive thoughts on plagiarism.
