Abstract

The study investigates the role of cognitive inhibition (CI) in occurrence of past and future thoughts (PFT) by experimentally depleting the inhibition. If CI modifies the frequency of PFT, depleting inhibition efficiency should intensify their frequency. The findings suggest that neither CI nor mental fatigue affect the frequency of PFT.
