Manipulation of ''Willpower'' on Self-Regulation: Behavioral and Neural Intersections

Saturday, May 27, 2017 · Boston, MA

Social

Ego-depletion suggests that one act of self-regulation impairs subsequent act of self-regulation. However, the underlying mechanisms of willpower on self-regulation remain unclear. This symposium shows how willpower affects self-regulation using multiple levels of behavioral and neural methods. We discuss the effects of uncertainty, heuristics and mindfulness on willpower and self-regulation.
