Social Factors in Pain
The Institute of Medicine estimates that 100,000,000 American adults experience chronic pain yearly, costing society $560-$635 billion annually. The interplay of physical and social factors in pain is not well understood. The presentations in this symposium explore how social factors affect physical pain and the social effects physical pain treatments.
