This symposium consists of four presentations that deepen our understanding of the affective consequences of interpersonal relationships by identifying mediating pathways that explain affective consequences of interacting with close and distant partners, individual differences in affective responding to partners, and relationship factors that shape the regulation and expression of emotion.
