<span>When Selfishness Promotes Interpersonal Relationships: Interpersonal Benefits of Selfish Motivation</Span>
The research presented in this symposium suggests that selfish or egoistic goals, such as goals to be viewed positively by others, to pursue benefits for the self, and to establish relationships with attractive partners, often engender pro-relationship behaviors and cognitions. Some forms of selfishness enhance relationship quality.
