Weighty Matters: The Heavy Impact of Weight Stigma on Health and Weight-Related Outcomes
Weight stigma is a public health priority because it is widespread, impairs health, and reinforces obesity. There is growing interest in the impact of weight stigma on weight-related health indices. This symposium presents novel research linking weight stigma to disordered eating, weight gain, insulin resistance, internalization, and physical health indices.
