Learning processes such as fear conditioning and negative reinforcement are mechanisms that contribute to a range of emotional disorders. Less is known about impairments in reward and punishment learning. This symposium examines reward and punishment learning in depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use, with implications for understanding comorbidity and treatment.
