Conflicting Results: Contributing Factors to the Replication Crisis in Psychology

In fall 2016, we attempted to replicate an effect of ego depletion on spatial attention. Analysis of two replication attempts (n=20 per) revealed neither attempt replicated, but in different ways. We’ll discuss this pattern of results in light of the replication “crisis” facing psychological science.
