Abstract

Psychology students prepared handwritten, typed, or no notes for an exam. There were higher exam scores for handwritten notes than typed notes or no notes. Exam preparation using handwritten notes likely required deeper processing and more detail in selecting, organizing, and integrating information than other note-taking methods.
