Predicting Leader Emergence with Bright and Dark Traits

Logistic regression analysis (N = 280) with nine “bright” and “dark” personality traits (including FFM) showed that three (extraversion, openness, dominance) predicted leader emergence. Previous, non-regression based studies showed significant differences for many traits. Results highlight the importance of accounting for shared variance to develop parsimonious trait models.
