Experiences of Involuntary Childlessness in the U.S. As a Function of Gender and Sexual Identity

Keyword: LGBTQ+Abstract: We explored experiences of involuntary childlessness in the U.S. as a function of gender and sexual identity. There were 1,112 childless cisgender participants (194 lesbian/gay, 350 plurisexual, and 568 heterosexual) ages 18-45. Almost 50% of people reported experiences of involuntary childlessness that were moderately stressful and frequent, regardless of identity.
