Keyword: Childhood AdversityAbstract: This study examines self-esteem as a mediator between ethnic identity and prosocial behavior in Latine adolescents. Results reveal that greater ethnic identity is associated with higher self-esteem, which in turn is related to greater prosocial behavior. Findings suggest that fostering ethnic identity may improve positive developmental outcomes in underserved youth.
