The Inescapability of Face Reading? Testing Two Interventions at Reducing Facial Stereotyping
Poster Session XI
Sunday May 25, 2025 (10:30 - 11:30 ET)
Keyword: Decision MakingAbstract: We tested the efficacy of two interventions at reducing reliance on facial cues during judgment and decision-making: one that manipulates lay beliefs about physiognomy and one that trains people to associate faces with new trait impressions. We find that people still largely relied on facial cues to make social judgments.
