Chronic Strains, Social Support, and Psychological Distress Among LGB People of Color

Keyword: LGBTQ+Abstract: We tested traditional (e.g., social support) and novel (e.g., LGBT connectedness) buffers between chronic strains and psychological distress among LGB people of color (N=587). Although social support did not buffer, it had a direct effect on psychological distress (b = -0.14, p < .001). LGBT connectedness showed null effects overall.
