Healing through Divine or Mundane Means: Can Spirituality Level or Social Support More Effectively Buffer Prolonged Grief Disorder in Children and Adolescents?

Keyword: Childhood AdversityAbstract: Bereaved children and adolescents, aged 11-19, completed a survey that measured the severity of Prolonged Grief Disorder symptoms and the strength of their spiritual beliefs/social support networks. Preliminary results suggest a slight negative correlation between spiritual beliefs and PGD severity, indicating that spirituality is protective against the disorder.
