Abstract: This study simultaneously tested goal orientation and expectancy-value theories on job search strategies amongst unemployed job seekers at three-time points (n_T1 = 859; n_T2 = 720; n_T3 = 418). Results showed that goal orientation predicted job search strategies beyond expectancy-value variables, indicating the relevance of job-search motivation in job search.
