Complex Trauma, Indigenous Values, and Capitalism: Contributing Factors to Identity in Native Hawaiian Adults
Poster Session I
Thursday May 22, 2025 (19:30 - 20:30 ET)
Keyword: Cultural DiversityAbstract: We examined C-PTSD symptoms, capitalist values (CV), and Hawaiian values (HV) as predictors of identity disturbance (ID) in a Hawaiian sample (Mage=21). C-PTSD symptoms predicted greater ID (p<.001), HV endorsement predicted lesser ID (p<.01), and CV had no association. Results are largely consistent with the existing Indigenous and identity literature.
