Examining Gender Differences in Depression Symptoms, Insurance Accessibility, and Attitudes Towards Seeking Mental Healthcare Services Among Latinx Adults

Keyword: Mood DisordersAbstract: Among a sample of 102 Mexican-origin adults (63 women; 39 men), we examined gender differences in depression symptoms, attitudes towards seeking mental healthcare services, and insurance status. Women reported significantly higher depression symptoms compared to men (p=0.025), but there were similar attitudes toward healthcare-seeking and insurance coverage rates.
