Keyword: AgingAbstract: We examined how young and older adults’ openness to experience interacts with information they encounter about aging to influence their beliefs about memory across the lifespan. Stereotype-confirming or disconfirming passages did not influence beliefs, but personality characteristics differentially affected young and older adults’ beliefs about age-related memory decline.
