Keyword: MilitaryAbstract: We conducted a longitudinal, retrospective cohort study of all 1.5 million U.S. Regular Army enlisted soldiers from 2004-2019 that examined rates of first adjustment disorder diagnosis as a function of time and gender. Rates were consistently higher among women, varied across phases of the war, and peaked in basic training.
