Childhood Maltreatment Is Associated with Daily Reactivity to Stress: A Large-Scale Cross-National EMA Study

We analyzed data from an ecological momentary assessment study (N = 5,399) and found that childhood maltreatment magnifies the association between perceived stress and blood pressure and heart rate reactivity. These findings illuminate potential mechanisms linking maltreatment to cardiovascular disease.
