Saturday May 24, 2025 (10:30 - 11:30 ET)
Keyword: Family RelationshipsAbstract: As part of a longitudinal study of sibling and friend relationships, we examined adolescents’ use of verbal irony and its connection to mothers’ perceptions of their relationships. Mothers’ perceptions of relationships varied based on presence of sarcasm and jocularity for their children’s sibling relationships but not for their children’s friendships.
