Perceived Stress, Alcohol Intake, and Prefrontal Cortical Activity during an Alcohol-Related Go/No-Go Task.
Poster Session III - Research Proposal Posters
Friday May 23, 2025 (12:30 - 13:30 ET)
Keyword: Substance Abuse and AddictionAbstract: This project will assess whether stress increases alcohol craving, reactivity to alcohol-related cues, and related activity of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) in college students. We hypothesize that higher self-reported stress levels will increase alcohol craving and disrupt PFC activity (fNIRS) and response inhibition in the presence of alcohol-related visual cues.
