Emotional Neglect Predicts Emotion Regulation and Fluid Reasoning Moderates That Relationship

Keyword: Childhood AdversityAbstract: Childhood maltreatment negatively impacts emotion regulation, and protective factors, like fluid reasoning, remain relatively unstudied. We examined predictors of emotion regulation and fluid reasoning as a moderator. Results indicated emotional abuse and emotional neglect most significantly predicted emotion regulation and fluid reasoning moderates that relationship.
