Keyword: LGBTQ+Abstract: We investigated rural and sexual minority population-level disparities in serious psychological distress (SPD). Using data from the National Health Interview Survey (n=17,768), we found that rural and sexual minority adults demonstrated higher levels of SPD than their urban, heterosexual counterparts; results for rurality depended on how the construct was measured.
