Editor: Dr. June Gruber
Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges, profoundly impacting human behavior, decision-making, and well-being. This Current Directions special issue seeks to highlight innovative research in psychological science that examines these impacts and explores how psychological principles can help understand factors enhancing human-based environmental change and contribute to potential solutions.
The purpose of this special issue is to highlight innovative directions in psychological science that explore the impact of environmental change on human behavior and well-being. As climate change continues to represent one of the most pressing global challenges, this issue seeks to feature cutting-edge research that examines how psychological science can address its diverse impacts on individuals, communities, and societies worldwide. For example, climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges, profoundly impacting human behavior, decision-making, and well-being. We invite proposals that address the following themes, among others:
- Psychological interventions and behavior change strategies for climate action.
- Cross-cultural perspectives on climate change perceptions and responses.
- The role of psychological science in mitigating climate-related stress, trauma, and mental health impacts.
- Innovative methodologies to understand climate change at local and global levels.
- How psychological science can contribute to understanding climate-related psychological phenomena and promote solutions that are effective across different cultures and regions
