When I was in graduate school, my advisor told me that I could probably never be a professor because back then women weren’t professors. APS’s prestigious awards are important because they can recognize scientists who break the mold and make a difference in the field. If you know someone like that, I hope you will nominate them for one of APS’s awards.

    To encourage student research in psychological science, the APS Student Grant Competition provides “seed grants” to support research in its initial development stages, e.g., the purchase of research materials or other expenses incurred prior to data collection. APS student affiliates are eligible.

    Students presenting posters at the APS Annual Convention are eligible for the Student Research Award which recognizes outstanding research conducted by APS student affiliates. Research for this award is reviewed by student reviewers and overseen by the APSSC Student Awards Officer.
