Abstract
Exposure to own-body odor lowered self-face recognition thresholds compared to a neutral odor condition. By contrast, body odors of the romantic partner had no influence on partner-face recognition thresholds. These findings suggest that the processing of self-face and own-body odor may beneficiate from specific multisensory integration mechanisms.
