Abstract
This study provides preliminary evidence for the moderating effect of pet ownership on the long-term negative health effects of adverse childhood experiences. A Qualtrics panel of 1550 adults over the age of 40 completed the study. The findings provide a novel understanding for the benefits of human-animal interactions.
