Abstract

This study explored whether the spacing effect can be enhanced with different encoding methods (restudy versus retrieval) during different time intervals (massed versus spaced). Participants were tasked to remember word pairs. Participants that learned in a spaced time interval and in retrieval encoding method learned more words.
