Abstract
Discrete-time survival analysis of U.S. Army administrative data during the Iraq/Afghanistan wars (2004-2009) found that women had higher risk of documented suicide attempt than men, even after adjusting for socio-demographic, Army career, and mental health variables. Importantly, the patterns and predictors of suicide attempt were similar for women and men.
