Exclusion during a Cyberball Game Is Associated with Faster Stroop Task Reaction Times; No Effect of Healthy Vs. Unhealthy Word Distractors Even in Restrained Eaters

Abstract
Social rejection is known to reduce self-regulation. In this experiment, social exclusion via Cyberball game predicted faster responding on a Stroop like-task. We found no evidence that the attentional self-regulation of those with restrained eating tendencies were impaired by the unhealthy food words.
