Abstract

In a between-participants design, undergraduates rated a single job application which either listed no pronouns, or listed preferred pronouns (she/her, he/him, or they/them). Participants rated the candidate on expected performance. Pronoun designation did not significantly predict ratings. Sexist attitudes and homophobia predicted positivity of ratings only for male applicants.
