Abstract
Emergency Medical Professionals (EMPs) contemplate suicide at high rates. However, Joiner’s (2005) interpersonal theory of suicide has not been widely tested in EMPs. A survey of 878 EMPs identified that on-the-job suicide exposure was associated with one’s own suicide likelihood, and mediated by reported PTSD symptoms but not depersonalization.
