Hit or Myth: The Effect of a Targeted Intervention for Dispelling Cognition Myths

Abstract
Undergraduates enrolled in cognitive psychology rated their belief in 50 psychology myths at the beginning and end of a semester. A targeted intervention to dispel 12 memory myths was implemented. Results indicated that undergraduates believed many of the myths, but myths refuted by the targeted intervention were endorsed less.
