The Impact of a Simple Board Game on Young Children’s Understanding of Negative Integers

Abstract
Even though negative integers are not introduced in curricula until middle school, research shows that early elementary students have established some understanding of numbers below zero. The proposed study hopes to investigate how playing a board game that utilizes numerals above and below zero can impact young children’s numerical cognition.
