Conspiracy Thinking in Older Adults and Younger Adults: The Role of Need for Cognitive Closure, Helplessness, and Anxiety of Contracting an Infectious Disease

Abstract
We describe the on-line study in three age groups: older, middle-aged and younger adults. The relationship between age and conspiracy beliefs is mediated by the Need for Cognitive Closure. In the younger adults conspiracy thinking is related to Helplessness and Anxiety of Contracting an Infectious Disease.
