Individual Differences in Pain and Disgust Responses
- Alexander Skolnick

Abstract
Pain and disgust: unpleasant feelings from threat-related origins. Using the cold-pressor task and disgust ratings to touched items, we found statistical support for hypotheses that disgust responsiveness is negatively correlated with pain threshold and pain tolerance, and positively correlated with peak-pain ratings (n=104). Men and women showed similar patterns.
