Abstract

This Scoping Review is the first study to systematically integrate findings on Hostile-Helpless States of Mind, a newly developed classification of adult attachment disorganization. Results from 19 empirical studies included in the synthesis support the hypothesis that Hostile-Helpless states of mind play a role in the intergenerational transmission of trauma.
