Abstract

We examined cognitive process language during stream-of-consciousness writing. We found that use of cognitive process words was positively related to internal struggle with thoughts and negatively related to mindful awareness and attention regulation, as well as to related indices of well-being: resilience, environmental mastery, and purpose in life.
