Abstract

COVID-19 has changed behavior, carbon emissions, and environmental quality. Does this impact our sense of humans’ ability to collectively respond to the threat of climate change? Using Protection Motivation Theory, we found that stories about COVID-19 increased efficacy and behavioral intentions to address climate change, even among climate change deniers.
