Abstract
We examined the unique stress and coping experiences of school police officers (SPOs; N=45) from a large independent school police department. Focus groups analyses revealed that SPOs experience stress from various sources –interactions with constituents, external social factors and interpersonal relationships – and utilize both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies.
