“Let’s Test That”: Using Classroom Data Collection to Simulate Real Studies for Encouraging Student Engagement

Abstract
Students from several psychology courses participated in classroom experiments to demonstrate psychological concepts. Beyond demonstrating effects, students were engaged as measured by anonymous feedback, and blog posts describing their learning experience. Examples of particularly successful “experiments” and demonstrations are identified, along with potential benefits for enhancing discussion of psychological concepts.
