Abstract
We investigated foreign language expertise, travel abroad experience, and knowledge as predictors of attitudes toward immigrants. These variables did not predict attitudes. Foreign language and travel experience predicted a false perception of increased knowledge. Adults with more positive attitudes toward immigrants assumed they knew more; this was another false perception.
