Hostile Attribution Bias and Parent-Child Relationship: Impact on Child Functioning

Abstract
This study examined the impact of a parent’s interpretation of an ambiguous situation involving their child(ren). Hostile attribution for both ambiguous relational and physical stories were associated with child impairment. Aspects of maternal psychological control was associated with hostile attribution for child scenarios.
